Instagram is makes you sad by making you less grateful.
I know, the word grateful dissapointed you, chill its there for a reason.
Google definies gratefullness as a quality of appreciating things you have.
There are different qualities of a person like kindness, trustworthy and gratefullness being one of them.
By qualities means feature.
Like how your phone has a feature of 32MP camera, gratefullness is the greatest feature a human can have.
You might say “Hey Deepak, but I have nothing to be grateful for?”.
Here is where a positive attitude comes into play.
Attitude is nothing but a window through which you see the world.
All of you must have played a game in which there is enemy detection by some sign.
Just like how the game detects opponents in a game, by having a positive attitude you mind automatically detects positive things out of even the most disheartening thing.
Helen Keller took blindness as an opportunity and due to this very reason we know her now.
Bharti singh took her sort of obese figure as an opportunity to become more funny and is now one of the the funniest woman comedians.
See as a human we become sad when somebody points out the negative things in us.
Instagram by its nature points out the negative things in you.
See being on instagram, you are giving an opportunity to your mind to point out all the negatives in you.
From celebrities who share glamorous photoshopped photos of themselves and your mind starts comparing it with yourself, same reason why we compare marks as and when we get results.
Everybody on instagram is running a rat race to prove how good they look and nobody crushes their dreams than celebrities.
See instagram is making you sad because you are running a race in which you are constantly being overlapped by people who are way better looking than you:models, having way more fun than you: social media influencers.
People do this subconsciously that’s why after using instagram you are always less sad than you were before you opened the app.
I removed insta on phone(inconvenient) and use whatsapp for texting.
